Todd A. Smith Joins Hudson United Mortgage and Rand Commercial

unnamed 4.02.15 PMNANUET, NY – Hudson United Mortgage and Rand Commercial are pleased to welcome Todd A. Smith (NMLS #738634) to their teams.

“I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to work with two of the most distinguished businesses in the region,” said Smith. “My new associates from both companies have been very welcoming and supportive, and I look forward to collaborating with them as I establish valuable and lasting bonds with them and my clientele.”

Smith has been involved in the real estate industry for 30 years, dedicating considerable focus to construction, project funding, and commercial real estate. He has experience in building restoration and construction and has received numerous awards in the process. He also holds an abundance of knowledge in commercial finance. Smith is a residential loan officer for Hudson United Mortgage in New Jersey and is in the process of obtaining his New York license.

Smith has a New York real estate license with Rand Commercial and is currently finalizing his New Jersey real estate license.

While Smith was in the construction business, he wrote for “Fine Homebuilding.” And, over the past year, due to his business acumen, Smith has been a frequent guest on New York’s AM970’s “The Small Business and Franchise Show.” He has penned three books: “I Pledge Allegiance,” a novelization about the plight of homeless veterans in the U.S.; “Navigating the Lending Maze,” a businessperson’s guide to obtaining financing; and “First and Ten on the Twenty…is it Football, Business or Life?”, which analyzes 24 aspects of the game and business of football that can be easily replicated in business and life. This is currently being formatted into a business workbook. Smith has lectured extensively on his books, including speaking engagements at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey and Montclair State University.

As a lifelong resident of New Jersey, Smith has become actively involved in his community. He currently serves as the vice president of the board of directors for Community Hope, a not-for-profit founded in 1985. The organization provides housing and support services for U.S. veterans and their families, as well as people suffering from mental illness.

“Through his professional work, publishing experience, and lectures, Todd has displayed his industry savvy in ways that make him a consummate fit for our company,” said Christopher Rand, manager of operations for Hudson United Mortgage. “He’s a well of knowledge when it comes to how this type of business works, and we’re eager to see all that he’s sure to contribute to our team.”

“Over the years, Todd has developed his business skills by working tirelessly in several areas of the real estate field,” said Paul Adler, Esq., regional manager of Rand Commercial. “With all of the transactions and projects we handle throughout the region, Todd is going to be a valuable member of our group as we continue to bring quality service to our clients.”
